20Time Project Proposal
Proposal: A Look Into History
A Historical Fiction Short Story
Needs and Opportunities
Explain the problem you have noticed that needs to be solved with a project like yours. This is also your hook, so make sure you grab our attention.
The people of today are so immersed in the present that they don’t take the time to look back on what’s already happened. This keeps us from learning from our past mistakes. People need to be inspired and intrigued enough to look back. A fictional story set in the past may be enough to get people wondering and spark curiosity.
Audience / Clients / Users
Explain who will benefit from your project. (How will you be able to access them for an empathy interview?)
I’m hoping to mostly reach teens and young adults. They are going to have the most impact on our future so they should know about our past. I would be able to reach these people through the online story sharing platform Wattpad, where it is possible to interact through comment sections and private messages.
Timeline
What is your monthly timeline for this project. I want to see a list of deliverables with deadlines. You may find that the timeline needs adjustment during the course of the Semester, which may be fine. Check in with me if that’s the case.

Product
What is the actual product you will show this spring. This project may be made of atoms or bits, but you must have something to show. I’m not interested seeing a bunch of great ideas at the end of the year. I want to see things.
My product will be a short story posted on Wattpad.
Mentor:
Who is it? What does he/she do? Email address?
Anne Grasberger

Reality Check
I am looking for moonshots here, but even moonshots need budgets. What equipment are you going to need? What other capital expenditures do you anticipate, and how will you meet them?
Mostly, I just need books which I can hopefully get from the library. If not, I will probably spend about $20 max on research books. I can easily pay for that.
Conclusion
Wrap it up. Why are you fired up about this project? Inspire us to support you, and give us a great reason to approve your project.
I’m excited to try something new. I’ve never written a historical fiction or an epistolary novel before. It will be a way to test my limits. My project should be supported because it is meant to inspire a desire to learn in the people who will start making their mark on the world.
