Super Stressed And Already Wishing For This To End

If you can't tell by the title of this 20Time post, I am very stressed (see the picture as it is an accurate representation of my mental state). There is a very specific reason I am stressed and that is the fact that I was sick for most of the weekend. Getting sick just completely throws me off my game because it turns me, a fairly productive and creative person, into a lazy potato that sits in bed watching John Oliver videos about pyramid schemes and U.S. infrastructure.
I had a lot of plans to get things done this weekend. I was going to send out emails to possible mentors and start thinking about the plot of my book. I was going to start my research on the time period. None of that happened. I accomplished exactly squat.
Now, all of those plans have to be pushed into this week and will be added to my already existing plans for this week.
To address the requirements for this post:
My main research questions are: How can writing about the past impact people of the present? What aspects of history are most relevant to today's environment? Does the genre of historical fiction leave more of an impact if it focuses on a true event or is it better to use it as more of backdrop for a story?
I feel like these questions are the things that I have to answer pretty early on, especially that last one. They all will shape how I write the story.
Since I have ten thousand other things to do right now, I am going to bring this to an end.
Au revoir,
Abby
